António Parreira
Clinical Director
António Parreira is the Clinical Director at the CCC. He is a member of the Portuguese National Academy of Medicine,, Portuguese Haematology Society, Spanish Haematology and Haemotherapy Society, European Society for Medical Oncology, European Haematology Association and American Society of Haematology. His scientific interests focus on minimal residual disease in haematological malignancies, namely chronic lymphoproliferative disorders, and multiple myeloma.

Fatima Cardoso
Fatima Cardoso
Director of the Breast Unit
Fatima Cardoso is the Director of the CCC’s Breast Unit. Dr Cardoso is actively involved in numerous professional organisations such as the European Society for Medical Oncology, the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the European School of Oncology. She is Chair of the Advanced Breast Cancer International Consensus Guidelines Conference and editor-in-chief of The Breast Journal.

Chairman of the Colorectal Programme
Bill Heald is Chairman of the Colorectal Programme at the Champalimaud Foundation. He is a former Vice-President of the Council at the Royal College of Surgeons of England and past-President of the Section of Coloproctology at the Royal Society of Medicine and of the Association of Coloproctology. His main interest has been the research and development of the Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) technique for rectal cancer. He has performed over 500 operations in more than 50 countries across the world.

Head of Minimal Access and Robotic Colorectal Surgery
Amjad Parvaiz is a specialist colorectal surgeon with comprehensive training in general, colorectal and laparoscopic surgery. Prof. Parvaiz has a special interest in colorectal cancer and benign diseases. He has developed his practice for laparoscopic colon and rectal surgery and is one of only a few surgeons in the UK offering laparoscopic Total Mesorectal Excision (TME) surgery for rectal cancer and ileo-anal pouch surgery to patients with Ulcerative colitis and FAP.
Durval Costa
Durval Costa
Director of Nuclear Medicine
Durval Costa is the Director of the Nuclear Medicine-Radiopharamacology Unit at the CCC. He also holds or held several national and international positions such as President of the Executive Committee of Section and European Board of the European Union of Medical Specialists (2012 – 2015). Durval’s research interests include the development of new radiopharmaceuticals for clinical application, as well as new protocols for the investigation of disease physiopathology and its progression.
Celso Matos
Celso Matos
Chair of the Imaging Department
Celso Matos is formerly of Erasme University Hospital, and is currently Chair of the imaging department at the CCC. He is the current President of ESGAR (European Society for Abdominal and Gastrointestinal Radiology) and is a member of the ESOR (European School Of Radiology) steering committee. Celso’s main areas of clinical and research interest are abdominal and oncologic imaging. He has received numerous awards, including the European Radiology 2006 best scientific publication.
