Berta Sousa, MD
Areas of interest: Breast and gynaecological tumours; new anticancer agents, prognostic and predictive factors
Dr Berta Sousa joined the Champalimaud Breast Unit in 2012. She graduated from the University of Porto, Faculty of Medicine in 1997. Her residency in Internal Medicine started at the Hospital de S. João in 2000 and between 2003 and 2006 she carried out her residency in Medical Oncology at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology, Porto. She is board Certified in Medical Oncology. From 2007 to 2009, she worked as a specialist medical oncologist at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology-Porto. Between 2009 and 2011 she completed a Clinical and Research Fellowship at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Odette Cancer Centre in Toronto, Canada. She earned a Masters Degree in Clinical Epidemiology and Health Care Research at the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation of the Toronto University in 2011. She is a member of ESMO, ASCO and a former Flims Alumni. She has about 40 publications in national and international medical Journals.
